100 Gallon African Biotope Stocking Suggestions

So im going to start an african biotope in my 100 gallon but im having some confusion on what to stock it with and how much of each fish could fit in my tank.

i really want an African brown knifefish so i kind of want to build around that species.

other fish i had in mind were african butterflyfish, african butterfly cichlids, but i am open to all suggestions

oo nice idea how biotope do you want to go? like the true home of the ABK right down to the distribution rivers. After a quick google they are all over africa, in all the big rivers like the Chad, Nile, Congo and the Niger spread over Sierra Leone, Liberia, Togo, Benin and Cameroon. well im gonna be more open with the biotope concept, like it would be more of a tropical african biotope. i want to keep it kind of general because of how hard it is to get some species of fish.

A group of fish coming from the same geographical area, A South American Biotype would only have fish that originate from South America. In this instance unfamous wants a African Biotype so he wants only African fish!

Totally agree with Davo86 gorgeous stocking plan that will look amazing!

you want a few abk, much more active in groups, hide all the time otherwise.
UI'd get 3 abk, then maybe 10 polypterids of varying kinds, group of one of the larger pelvicachromis, 5 butterflys, few ctenopoma, few synodontis.

What do you mean abk ? african brown knife ?? Adult brown knifes will not tolerate each other and some will be killed.

Alos its only a 100G, how are you gonna fit in 10 ?? maybe a few rope fish and one or two bichirs but not 10.

thanks that sounds really good.
depending on availability at lfs i'll go ahead and base the stocking on this. i did go today and i picked up 10 upside down catfish a little more than seven i know but i'll trim down the number of congo tetras or cut out a species of cichlids
