i have a 10 gallon tank it currently has four baby piranhas but i would have to get a new tank if i wanted to keep them so i was wondering what type of barbs would go well together in there?? im interested in tiger barbs, tinfoil barbs, rosy barbs, silver dollars, angle fish, clown barbs clown loaches maybe a pleco i know i cant fit all of these in there but what of those could get along in there and what else could go in there, i want a little activity so anything like that would be good thanks

IMO, none of the fish you mentioned would do well for very long in a 10 gallon. They all will get too big and/or need much more growing and swimming space.

i have 7 tiger barbs and even though they dont get very big they swim all over and relly seem to enjoy the 30 gallons i have them in. i think you could have about 5 of them in a 10 gallon with nothing else. i wouldnt keep less then 5 together though because they are more nippy and you cant see as much of the fun chasing games they play

Just wanted to add that I base my answers regarding tiger barbs and their tank requirements on several websites I found doing a google search. Most of them will say 20 - 30 gallons minimum because they are so active. I previously did some research because I have an empty 15 gallon tank that I was gonna stock with tigers, but changed my mind after reading that.

Sorry, I have no suggestions on what can go in the 10 gallon, but I'm interested what others will say so I have some ideas for my still empty 15 gallon. :shifty:

what about the 15 gallon because i also have a 29 gallon

If you'd like some barbs, what about cherry barbs? Very colorful, and stay small. Livebearers are also a good idea, and possible a nice school of neons?

I would say no. In a ten gallon your options are very limited. Neons and most live bearers like to be in groups...so having just a few of each would not be ideal.

I don't think it's too hard to stock up a 10gal, so that the fish in there live happily and healthy. It's quite easy...if you think small :)
Here are the fish I keep in my 10gal:

#2 Dwarf Gourami
#2 Guppies
#1 Peppered Corydora
#2 Dwarf Otocinclus
#1 Large Swordtail fry
#1 Poppendetta Furcarta

I know, I know the swordtail will grow too large for my tank don't worry I'm giving it back to my freind. You see she breeds swordtails and well after selling most of them to the lfs she decided to give one to me. I told her I'll look after it until it grows to a adult then give it back. So that's what happened :D
Just think small fishes!

10 gallon
1 ADF
1 Betta

that is all IMHO
