Okay so my boyfriend posted this question in the tropical discussion section, but it didn't get much of a response, so I'm trying it in here, speaking for my self.

I just got a 10 gal of my own, I'm in the middle of cycling it now. It's got polished pea-sized gravel, 2 hunks of rose quartz, and some pieces of bog-wood in there. I'm going to take one of the fry from the 30 gal, and we're going to get 2 honey dwarf gourami.

What I'm wondering is there any other fish I could put in there?

I don't have much of a preference right now, so any suggestions would be helpful. :)

Thanks!

PS: I'd also like to add that until my tank is cycled, the fish will be residing in my boyfriend's 30 gallon. We already have the male molly and just bought the gouramis.

you should let us know what you would like then we can help you a little more, but i can still try a little.

In my ten gal, (the only tan I have right now) i will end up having:
a school of neon tetras (7-10)
a school of pygmy cories (i think 6)
and 3 guppies just because i really have some odd this with guppies.

this seems like a lot of fish in a 10 gal, but i think it works because I will have fish at levels, high, mid, and low.

Hope i helped some

i'd do the two guoramis, a shoal of 3-4 spotted corys and 4 female platys (either tuxedo or painted). i'd do all females so u don't get babies like crazy.
i also like bleeding heart tetras instead of the platys.

Well, I do like female Bettas or Turquoise Guppies, but I'm just not sure if they'll overstock the tank.

Boyfriend here. She is iffy on cory since she uses gravel. It is polished pea sized stone so it may work but also questioning which type of cory would be best. We have the following available.

Peppered
Green
Julli
Skunk
Panda

Green is a type of bronze cory I believe. I love those things... they are very cute! Pandas are also cute.. but I heard they are less hardy.

The julii, correctly called trilineatus in most cases, are nice cories that do well in fairly new tanks. You probably can't afford real julii cories when the trilineatus are just as nice, they are rather hard to find and demand a high price. The panda cories often do not do very well in a new tank. The peppered is another nice sturdy cory that will do OK in a fairly new tank.

you could do a few female betta, and a few cories, i like the green, but those will get to about 4 inches long, which you need to consider the general room of 1 inch per gal. if you want you could do a male betta with some cories probably 3 or 4, depending on the type.
