1 oscar, 2 Jack Dampsey, 1common plec, and 1 black ghost knife compatiable in a 90 gallon tank? I have lots of hiding places for my ghostknife.

well assuming that all the cichlids are young and that is all that is going to be in the tank, and that the JDs arent male and female. its a really big maybe. I would worry about the BGK getting the snot beat out of it.

It will work for a while, but the chances are the JD's will probably terrorize everything else to death, except the pleco. If the JD's are not a pair then one will likely terrorize the other to death too. 90 gallons isn't that big - it's enough for a compatible pair of JD's and the pleco.

Sorry about the typo. Its 1 Oscar. Anyways, when do JDs pair up and how do I know when they pair up?

JDs are fairly easy to sex from a young age. males have less blue on their face and gill plates, where as on females that is where a large majority of the blue is located. but after reading with what freddy said, he is right in that it is one or the other but not both. either way the BGK isn't a good idea.
