Anyone used 1 external filter on 2 smaller tanks, was wondering as I would like 2 x 35litre ARC's and was wondering if I could use a single external on both as internals are a bit ugly in all glass tanks?

Cant believe no one has any ideas on this lol.

Yes that would be fine, you'd need a way of getting water from one tank to the other, an over flow system would be best, having one tank high than the other, that way you can ensure no floods should the power fail.

I'm not sure I get this lol, well both tanks would be the same size, side by side with just the inlet and outlet pipes split between the two tanks, just thought actually what happens if one inlet gets blocked lol then that tank would over fill and the other would empty slowly, oh dear think I need to think this through better lol.

That's why you'd require some form of over flow, in the same way a sump works in an aquarium set up.

Hmmm think I'll get two small externals lol, sounds like too much hassle for two 35L arcs.
