No, have not.  Is that necessary?

    Live Plants - Frustrated

So, have had my tropical tank up a while now, and things have gone well with the water, and the fish.  What hasn't gone well?  Success with live plants. Tried bulbs first - no success there at all.  Have planted 3 different types of 'existing' ones.  One didn't last at all, and the other 2 are...

    Cory Question

Just one day.  My tank is def not overcrowded, and water tests good. None of the others I've added up to this point have done it, so that's part of why I asked.  I'll continue to monitor, but guess I just wondered what their 'typical' swimming profile was. Good to hear.  I know the albino is...

    Cory Question

So, I added an albino and bronze Cory, to my tank. They are very, very active so far.  I mean, I see them on the bottom some (as I expected) but then lots of other times they are swimming all over the tank, particularly near edges.  And I mean fast. Is this normal behavior?  I'm not complaining...

    Catfish Recommendation?

I have some driftwood.  But yes that still sounds a little higher maintenance, than I'd like.  Any with lesser maintenance than that?

    Catfish Recommendation?

Am still in the early stages of my tank but things have gone well so far. Its 37 gallon, with gravel (not sand) substrate).  Have six tetras, 3 zebra dannios, and two platys so far. I'm wanting to add some type of catfish.  But not one that has separate feeding needs, and not one that needs to...

    Next Fish Recommendations?

Thanks then, good info. Any particular non-shoaling species to recommend, anyone?

    Next Fish Recommendations?

Thanks. On #2 I was asking would multiple 'types' of tetras school together i.e. if 6 is a good number, could it be 3 of one type and 3 of another?

    Next Fish Recommendations?

Thanks eaglesaquairium! - why is/are dannios being active swimmers a problem? - would another type of tetra be substitutable, vs adding more black skirt? - would gravel substrate (no sand) rule out corydoras?

    Next Fish Recommendations?

Figured I'd turn to the experts  In a fairly tall 37.5 gallon (new) tank I have 3 black skirt tetras, 3 zebra dannios, and 5 white mountain minnows. What would be the next school you'd go with, and why? Goal is just to build out a diverse tank, with diff kinds to interest my young kids

    Water Changes

I think its pretty clear what I said, if one reads.  Has nothing to do with doing "none", has to do with there being absolutely no consensus.  5% weekly, versus 50% weekly (just read above) are about as far apart as one can get.  So all I respectfully said, was its a shame that there doesn't...

    Water Changes

So....no disrespect meant to either poster, but this above is exactly what I meant.  Two opinions/beliefs, that couldn't be further apart.  Which is exactly in sync with my own research.  So is frustrating, how even with the specifics, there seems no consensus.  Tough to take up a hobby, with...

    Water Changes

So.... am looking for good advice on water changes.  I have started a 37.5 gallon tank, very early in.  After getting cycle going, added 3 tetras, 3 zebra dannios, and a white cloud fish 1 week ago today.  So far my water has tested fine, and the fish seem to be fine. I see misleading things on...

    Volume Of Flow, Thru Filter

Can anyone explain, how filter flow affects things.  My filter seems to have a pretty wide range -  what's best? Wide open (100%)? low flow (10%)? Somewhere in the middle?  What should be considered?
