Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help. Over the last 2 weeks white slimey algae / fungus has started growing on the plastic parts of my heater. Does anyone have any advice on how to get rid of it? I've cleaned the heater 3 times on the last 2 weeks but it keeps growing back. Thanks in advance!

It's quite a small tank, only 25 litres and supports 3 fish comfortably - I've had 4 fish in there twice but the weaker has died both times. These were both goldfish so couldn't be due to not having a heater.

No, just those 2. :) That simple!? I think I'm expecting something complicated with a tropical tank! I bought a heater which starts at 20 degrees. Is it worth gradually increasing the temperature over a few days so they don't get a shock?
