Hello,
I've had a 60L tropical tank set up for a year now and it's been full sustainable and great.
Over the past month i have added some bogwood, and some live plants.
both have been soaked in water as suggested.
since adding to my tank my water has became very cloudy (which i've read is...
That would be super awesome! Been looking at getting some for the tank. Love the way vines float downwards in the water. Going to get some Java moss for the bogwood after Christmas too. Waiting till it looks somewhat how I'd like before getting any pictures online though!
Yeah think I'll be removing them , more work but I'd prefer that to taking risks with dips. Lettuce soaked in warm water left in the tank overnight apparently brings them in so could try that once I start getting a few too many to see if it works!
Ahh thanks seems I'll have to avoid buying Mars plants. Bummer. Glad I'll be able to buy plants online. Much cheaper than LFS and obviously a better stock! I've been told running plants under warm water is good for removing snail spawn but not put to the test myself yet.
Just a brief introduction to myself and tank I suppose.
Mainly I've got a 64L tank with 5 guppies in at the moment.
Looking to increase that number but playing it safe and slow keeping water good and fish happy.
Settled for a planted aquarium currently got plants for bottom of tank but...
Thankyou for this advice. Already got full testing kit on its way so I can measure everything needed. Will repost at later date with full information on water quality.
Love the tank and choice of inhabitants! Wishing to create one that looks similar to this over time, for now just letting the plants grow a bit but hopefully it'll end up looking something as beautiful as yours!
Thanks for the information
Ph levels are 7.5
Asides from that I can't provide much information except water temp being set for 26 degrees as still a fairly new established tank and just querying into the possibilities there is based on members experience as fish shops near me tend not to know...
I currently have a 65L tropical aquarium set up, I'm looking for a good fish to act as a main attraction but don't know where to begin, was hoping for suggestions for any of you more experienced fish carers and enthusiasts!
I currently have a small school of 6 guppies but don't want to increase...
Wish it was that cheap for me to pick up haha, £35 here in the UK but going to get soon as I've got the money to do so. For now got individual testing kits to measure all, or get them on the way if not currently in possession, fish in fly led tank and appear a bit more lively but will monitor...
Thank you I'll move them into the other tank and monitor them while waiting for the testing kit for ammonia to arrive, appreciate the replies. Happy to hear it's not contagious but let down that it's most likely my own fault for the ammonia poisoning. Will do the water changes as you stated.
Only two left, lost one when it had an unsuspected baby, which didn't survive. Bought an ammonia testing kit for delivery within 48 hours as a quick test until after this holiday period when I can pay for the api testing kit. Again thank you for the response greatly appreciated!
Thanks for a reply, would changing the fish into a tank with good levels help them survive at all? Will get the master cleaning kit as by the weekend. The tank they are in has been set up about 1 week but the other tank available has been set up a few months.
One of my guppies has recently been sat at the bottom of fish tank moving very minimally (once or twice every few hours even during feeding) it has recently improved slightly and moves hourly, another guppie has begin to act similar and I'm concerned it may be some form of disease they have...
