I have a 180l juwel vision running a fluval 307 canister filter with spray bar & 2 air stones. I have switched out all my fake plants for real today after quickly realising that natural is the way to go. I have a large piece of mopani with annubias, microsorium & moss along the branches being delivered on Monday & some wood stone.
My current stocking is as follows

3 honey gouramis
6 cardinal tetra
12 cherry barbs
4 lemon tetra (2 recently passed)

I’m interested in a clean up crew/bottom dwelling fish. I obviously don’t want to be over stocked. What would people reccomend?

You certainly have space for some bottom dwelling/clean up crew.

Going of your current stock you will be looking for soft water species. First choice would normal be corydoras for me but they really do need a sand substrate so id probably go for some Oto's (Otocinclus Catfish) or maybe some Amano shrimp:)

I really do love Corys but I have the Hugo kamishi tiny black glass gravel ? I’ll have a look at the ottos & shrimp. How about a couple of snails? Would they be ok too

Yes that will be fine :) Nertie's are about the best snails for a clean up crew.

otos are a challenge to keep sometimes as they are wild caught and have a chance of not accepting your food.

ramshorns also bulldose the algaes but they breed too much
if you want a good looking centerpiece snail, then get mystery snails. though they;re poop machines they will look good

I would recommend Nerite snails for the algae. Amano or cherry shrimp would also be a good choice. I wish you had sand, so you could get a shoal of Corydoras. :/

My Cory's are happy on hugo kamishi black gravel or black substrate as you call it fine for them

Well it has to be smooth
They are natualy in sand and do best in it because they can swish the sand in their mouths.

This gives me hope. It is very smooth and rounded. I’ll do some more research as I really do want a shoal of cory’s
