Hi all,

I am currenty cycling my tank and noticed some white fungus like/algae growing on my driftwood. Does anyone know what is it and how to get rid of it?
Is it harmfull to fish? There are only two hijackers in the tank(pond snails) as I am currently cycling it.

I had some of that too on my new driftwood...Its already stopped showing up and my fish sucked up any that was left.

Thanks. I hope it's harmless. It looks gross though.

:p It felt gross too. Without thinking I reached in and swiped at it :sick: The platies seem fine so far and I've read in a few places that others have eaten it and been fine {assuming its the same stuff}

Just an update, but since I put the pleco in that stuff started falling off. I don't know whether he knocked it off when sucking on the wood or it just started dying itself, but it's gone almost from everywhere. Here is a pic of the same part of the wood from above.
