Whats A Betta?

I have seen 2 sources of betta pictures,
on the box of my breeding trap and on google images.
But they are different fish!

Thank you for all your help i have been watching my bettas carefullu and they seem to be thriving. But recenty i have starte to see growths on their abdomen. They are growing and i think they are legs!! Can you help me please. if not point me in the dirction of someone who can.
