5really... trouble is there isnt enough room for the big fish to "swim" mayb lay? :S

whats on them isnt brown / gold though... its almost pure white... :S

Ok, Good luck.
Don't worry velvet can also come like a dusting of talc.

Look under velvet.

That little baby fish makes me want to cry, his eyes say it all bless him, hope he makes it.

had a read of both those sights... dosent seem to fit... well the symptoms doo but there is no gold etc on them .... just that white slime stuff.... but from what i understand that could be because its in its "late" stages?

will attempt to get pics of other fish showing same thing... mayb it will give a bit more of an idea...

You can get slime and velvet together, as you can buy a med by interpet for slime and velvet.
They do go slimey with parasites they are producing more slime coat to help protect there slimecoat.
Velvet it harder and takes long to cure then whitespot, if you are seeing an improvement i wouldn't worry, that formalin med is one of the best.

There this but i would only ever use it as a last resort.

The pond sounds infested it will take a while, could even be up to two weeks to they start really to improve, i know it must be awful, parasites are nasty and do alot of dsmage to a fish, to be honest i'm suprised you havent lost a fish yet.

ive lost one last week if you remember, and my fav is starting to go a bit :S now too.. ( the red and black one) soooo im expecting dead fish... just hope there aint too many!!! its going to be heartbreaking if we loose anymore really. Oh well, not a lot we can do really... just got to smle and bear it :S

You are doing everything you can for them, just hope they are strong enough to get through it, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

You really need to get something the fish wont panic in when dipping. I think a dip of .5% is better than a bath at ,3%. Just hold them in the net, count to five and then put back in the pond. Salting makes them thicken the slime coat and then they lose it.
Do that for three days on the sickest fish and keep going with the meds for slime and velvet as wilder has suggested. You can do a second dose with the meds 48 hours after the first as you need to stop the parasite breeding and reinfecting them.
If you have UV then make sure its off, and add the meds at dusk.

 turn off the UV?

righteo didnt know that.

that formalin stuff says NOT to put anymore in the water for another 8 days. as it will kill the fish.. as it dosent biodegrade like the other treatments... and stays strong for the full 7 days then on day 8 goes... or something along them lines

Is the med green? If so then switch the uv off.
Sorry, should have made it clearer.

med is clear

checked the bottle dosent say anything on it...

slime has got mucho thicker on a couple of fish and the behaviour worsend i think... not swimming about again or feeding...

righteo just salt bathed about 5 goldfish... one i noticed has a fin that was missing a big piece... looks like its almost rotted away... the others all have split fins.. im guessing the velvet has let other things have a bit of a bash :(

went to catch a koi, ( was using a large landing net so nice and soft) the goldfish where fine but the koi went nuts... so i did my best to release him as quick as i could. but him panicking didnt help much... so yeah i wont be trying that again.

but i dont think it will harm the goldfish so much if i continue with it

It often gets worse before it gets better. Keep going with it and hopefully it will recede but it takes time.
