ive got a shrimp tank that has amazon sword, java moss, and cryptocornye which are lower light plants. i also have, in the same tank, a patch of micro sword. it says this is a high light plant. if i leave the light on for 12 hours or so...wouls this be too much for the low light plants or will they take advantage of the extra light and grow quicker?

low light plants will tolerate low levels of light, but they also do really well in bright light. So yes you can increase the lighting and they will simply do a bit better :)
