I have an aquarium that has been setup for about 9 weeks. And when I test my water it always comes out the same. 7 ph, .25 -.50 ammonia , 0 nitrite and 0 nitrate. It’s a 10 gallon tank , 73-74 degrees, has 20 lbs gravel substrate , using a sponge filter and a penguin 75 filter. After 4 weeks I added 4 white clouds and 3 weeks later added 12 more white clouds. After 2 weeks with 15 clouds water test still the same. Also using API stress coat , stress zyme and quick start. Any ideas on why my aquarium doesn’t want to cycle? Only artificial plants at this time. Plan on adding live plants once tank gets established. Also have some brown algae that is starting to show up.
