I was just wondering if there was a way to tell an age of a betta. Do you think that the petshop should know. I am just curious, because i am sure that you have read my previous posts.

Thanks.

lol, i think older bettas will start o have a wrinkly tail, etc...but i'm not too sure on that.

ok I am going to cut him open tonight.......................................

Oops did i just say that??

Definately by the intensity of the coloring and the texture of the fins, they get brittle-looking with age. Betas are short-lived fish, living only approx 3y.
liked the cutting open and counting ring joke by the way; here's a laugh for you... haha! :sly:

Younger bettas are smaller with somewhat shorter finnage, not as excessive anyway.
