I was told that if you are using a good quality salt you do not have to mix the RO reclaim minerals with RO water. Would there be any negative effects if I used the reclaim minerals and the salt?

I have never heard of reclaim minerals! I use Tropic Marine and all the minerals are in the salt, re-creating natural sea water.

RO Reclaim

I dont think it would hurt to add those to the Ro water then the add the salt, it could only help right?

Kent do a similar product called RO Right

All it does is replace the beneficial elements stripped out by the RO process. The majority of salts will replace these anyway so theres no issue, by adding RO Reclaim or RO Right you will, in effect, be dosing the tank with those elements that it replaces. As with any dosing, only add it if you can check for it.

Save your money. This is mainly for sensitve FW fish, like Discus, for when people use RO water. After stripping the water bare, they re-add minerals for the health of the fish. Has no place in marine keeping IMO. SH
