Newbie African Cichlid Questions

I have a few african cichlids, but I dont know much about them

I did some research upon african cichlids but the results were very odd
I live in the LA area and bought them for 2.99 each, they are about 2-3 inches by length at the moment.

My questions:
-What is their full size growth?
-Do "breeding caves" really work? Such as this one: http/cgi.ebay.com/TROPICAL-FISH-CICHLIDS...1QQcmdZViewItem
-At what size/age can they start breeding?
-What do they eat? ( I feed them Tropical fish flakes foods/Cichlid Gold )
-Should the PH be at a certain level?

-What is their full size growth? Anything from 2" to 2' - probably 4-8" you need to identify the species.

-At what size/age can they start breeding? Depends on the species & sexes you have
-What do they eat? ( I feed them Tropical fish flakes foods/Cichlid Gold ) Again depends on the species, Many Malawis need lower protein veggie based diets
-Should the PH be at a certain level? Again, depends on where they originate.
