Hi in my community tank my school of 8 neons have recently (some of them) started to look weak and frale and look 'bleached' in colour.

Particularly the red area is looking different?

Parameters are fine, setup is Jewel70, other tankmates consist of-
-Dwarf Gourami
-Pearl Gourami
-Harlequin Rasbora
-Black Widow tetra
-Corys

today, a cory has passed away, the only symptoms i could find was that one eye looked more swollen than the other?

Food wise, i feed a mix of flakes and frozen food, including shrimp, mosquito larvae, dafnia, bloodworm etc etc

The tank has been established for about 6 months, never had any problems until now.

Other than cory's and neons, all other species look fine.

Help please! :)

I've been doing some reading since this post and realised it's ntd so i've euphanised the affect fish. Should i destroy all the neons to be safe?

It's not nice doing it :(

Sorry wish I could help! Umm..are the levels ok in your tank? ie.nitrate/nitrite/pH/ammonia...?
Also have you quarantined the neons from the other fish in a hospital tank?
(I'm doing that now with 2 sick fish I have)
what do you think they have that is untreatable?

Just for info, my new neons in qt at mo are really pale when the light first switches on, and our older ones went pale when they had whitespot, I think they just go a bit pale when things aren't right generally. I'm not saying it isn't NTD but if that's the only symptom it could be anything. If they're looking weak I imagine it's probably because they haven't eaten much, which if they're not feeling well is nothing unusual IMO.

The cory with a swollen eye could have had pop eye, its a bacterial infection.

I'm merely speculating by the way! Hope you find the problem ^_^
