is my girl betta savable? :(

just need to know what my next step should be with my girl sushi.. new to female betta fish and have never had this problem with my boys. She swims ok, still wants to eat and still rules over everything else in the tank, but if shes suffering I don't want to prolong it.. seems cruel.. so I need to know steps I can take and if I have to, the best way to send her off...

can you describe what we are looking at in the picture? Obviously there is a growth under her belly region but I can't make out much from the pictures.
Are there red lines sticking out?
Is the growth coming out of her butt?
How long has it been like that for?
