Hybrids platy x swordtail

Here are some pics of some hybrids between a maculatus platy x green swordtail. They're quite large sized. Which does happen overhere from time to time if you've paid some attention to some posts of mine.

The lateral lines of the swordtail influence are really visible.

Interesting . I’ve read that this cross can happen but this is the first instance of it that I’ve seen . Not actually in person but as close as I’ll get .

Well, now you see real hybrids between the two species within the same genus.

That's just the good home I've given them to grow up large. I had and have more livebearers that grew up large by just giving them the right circumstances.

This also tells us that they do have a growth potential that is beyond the sizes given on many livebearer sites.
