Have to move my betta

I have to go stay at my mom's place for a while, and wanted to take my Betta with me (I don;t trust my roomate to look after it). What is the easiest way to move the little guy? He is in a 1gal tank. I was thinking of wrapping a towel or small blanket around the tank and having it on my lap while my SO drives very carefuilly. Will this stress the little guy out too mcuh?

It is only about a 10-15 minute drive, so it is not long at all.

Drop the water level quite a bit (you could bag some of it to put back in later), and maybe put some cling film over the top to catch the splashes. A full tank will slosh all over the place, no matter how carefully you drive - I have done it myself

I was thinking that. I am going to take out some water, sio it should be easier on the little guy.
