Guppy with fin rot

I have a male guppy who has had fin rot now for well over 2 months and it is slowly getting worse. I've treated him with a fungal medication for fungal fin rot ..as well as a bacteria medication for bacterial fin rot...and neither medications have helped. I've even given him 3 salt baths and those haven't helped either.

What more can I do??

I had the same problem with one of mine, try a course of myxazin (sp?) by waterlife, do a water change, wait a few days and follow it up with a 1 week coure of melafix. This should hopefully sort it out.

Hi Barday, That is the exact medication I have been using for the past week with no improvement at all.

I don't have melafix here but I'm gonna try and get my hands on some tea tree oil and make my own.

Hmmm, not oo sure what else to suggest. Definately try the tea tree oil thought, be carefull not to over dose, that stuff is prety powerfull, i think melafix is only something like 1% pure tea tree oil
