Fluval Edge

Results this morning;

Ph: 7.4
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 1ppm

Nothing seems to be changing very much, fish are feeding well daily and getting really bright. Anubias plant also has two new shoots :)

If the mature media "take" in their new filter situation then they could easily represent a match or more than a match for 5 ember tetras, in which case it may just be a matter of watching zeros for a long time (but that indeed would be the wiser thing to do since a light bioload may also take quite a while to show you a nitrite spike if it is going to do it.) Most likely the MM will simply add to an already decent balance for a fish-in cycle.

pH: 7.4
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 10ppm

Slightly more interesting results this eve, would anyone be willing to provide some informed info on what is an exceptable level for nitrates in an fluval edge (24 litres)??

This morning's result's:

pH: 7.4
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: slightly less than 10ppm

I have just done a water change with the ro I had left (about 15/20%) and shall test again this eve

:good:
Seems to be holding up ok, Keith.

We're thinking of adding 2-3 more embers on Monday if the levels stay like this...fingers crossed :)

This evening's results as follows;

pH: 7.4
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 10ppm (slightly less again)

:fish:

Tonight's update;

pH: 7.4
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 5ppm

We have just attached some java fern to one piece of the bogwood, so it's filled out a bit more. Shall be doing a weekly change of 25% tomorrow and then hopefully some more fishy friends!

All sounding very good, looking forward to seeing the pics.
