Hello everyone, I need quick help on what to do next.
I have a blue electric ram. His swimbladder stopped working and he just sat on the bottom of the tank. Still swimming to eat but nothing else. After learning it could just be an infection that can be cured I aperstes him into a humin salt bath (1g/L). For 5 days nothing has happened and I nearly transferred him back today. Today his belly is completely round .he didnā€™t get any food for the 5 days. His still breathes normally but there is something going on here. Is this connected to the swimbladder? Is this another problem?
What should I do now? I donā€™t want to kill him by handling this wrong.
The last picture is him before I separated him.
As you can see itā€™s the middle third thatā€™s swollen like crazy. The rest looks normal.

What sort of salt did you use?
How long was the fish in the salt bath for?

What does the fish's poop look like?
How long did the fish take to swell up and get fat?

----------------
It could be an internal bacterial infection, in which case there's not much you can do if it has stopped eating.

If you used sodium chloride (salt) and left the fish in it for 5 days, the salt could have damaged the kidneys and the fish has organ failure. No cure.

If the fish has stringy white poop, the following link might help. But stringy white poop combined with sudden swollen belly and not eating is bad and the fish usually dies within a couple of days.
