Test strips are not accurate, get your mate to give you the cash he owes you and get a liquid test kit, you should be able to pick up an API master kit for 25 pounds delivered. Java moss is great, but wait till the cycle is finished as ammonia + light = algae.

I'm almost at the start of week 3 too (of my project, trying to keep details info on a fish-less cycle), it's going rather slow here too..

New Update - LED's And Driftwood Finally Come Woooo Still waiting for plants though

LED's -
I cut some plastic and siliconed it to the bulb because my other ones managed to get condensation inside and blew the lights out
Heres the LED's If anybody is interested in getting some - eBay - MR11 White LED's




Driftwood -
I have had to tie the driftwood together because the new piece keeps fallen over you can just see the thred i used.
hopefully when i get the tank finished and get some java moss on it you wont see the thred



Just need my plants and fish now and am finished and will be happy
