hi , i got three guppies last week and i think they are great . I was looking at them last night because we were told they were all male but one off them has a black spot / marking appearing near his rear . I read a post recently about platies and this mark and them being pregnant ! is it the same for guppies and if not what is the mark and anybody know how to sex them ? :fish: :dunno:

Hi Claireroe, :)

It's possible your guppies could still be male, and the black dot is just thier coloring. I have a few males Guppies like that.
A sure-fire way to sex them, is to look at the anal fin. The male's will be pointed, and the female will have a fan-shaped fin.
If it is a female, and it has a black spot, then she's pregnant!

wow ! i will check and see and keep an eye on it , they swim that quick and are quite small too . Thanks for the info .
