Brown Wavy-hair Algae

What do you mean with 'a bit at a time'?

Spray like 1/5th of the background/rocks, then fill up again, and do another 1/5th one week after?

i've also bought me some seachem purigen (after all the read up, i just wanted to try that out), leave out untill after the treatments? or just chug it all in?

thanks!

Wait till after treatment to put the purigen in, yeah say 1/5 per week, just work out how much you will be putting in if you use the whole bottle too as overdosing is sometimes bad if you go mad with it. I put in loads once, years back, killed my pearl danios. just make sure you dont go more than 3 x recommended amount.

So my delivery came today ^^
juy!

It says: dose 1ml/50l or max. 2ml/50l
Or; try out half a dose for the first weeks.

so i calculated; for my 450l aquarium (400l water to be safe)
1ml/50l -> 8ml/400l
dilute 1 in 20;

gives me 160ml spray solution...

Use this, like you suggested once a week on parts of the aquarium?

cheers! and thanks!

So, Ps3Steveo, I did as you suggested :).
made 10ml + 190ml 1in20 dilution and went spraying...

Funny thing is; some of the algae (as in the picture, but after pruning) turned reddish after 24h.... the other half turned a sort of camouflage green to bright green o_O
i guess that explains the photosynthesis part :D

Should i keep dosing daily easycarbo? or just wait untill next week and spray another part?

Id wait a few days at least even a week as you put in a weeks worth already.

Funny,
They have ALL turned a bright grassy-green.
i can perfectly see where the waterline was when i sprayed the background and the rocks :)

Is it safe to assume the green ones are dead?

The algae you described as staghorn appear to be harder to treat...

If they've changed colour it usually means its dying.
