Can anyone tell me whether or not it is normal for a male black mollie to constantly chase around the female, to the point that the female hides in the corners to escape?

Mine also did this, and the female died from the harassment I think

Yes it is...I have a Male that almost killed my female I had to seperate her from him, until I got some more females now hes bad but not as bad...Its good to have at least 2-3 females per male

That's normal. In my case, the female chased the male to exhaustion. As I found out later.........Ratio for mollies is 2 females to 1 male. Made all the difference in my tank.
