Gosh, that was close! Poor lil fella - glad he's doing ok though.

Can't quite work out why you would be pouring his tank water away with him still in the bowl though - seems a stressful way (for the fish) to be doing water changes - being slooshed out of its tank, falling into a net etc then back again. Can you not either gently scoop him into a cup of tank water whilst you water change (cover it with something so he doesn't jump out) - or just scoop out most of the dirty water with a little plastic cup, leaving him in the bowl? There has to be a better way to do it than your current method.

Anyway, after that ordeal I'm sure you won't make the same mistake twice LOL
