Im trying to find a profile on zebra gold kwanga online and can't find anything, does anyone know:

How big do they grow?
How many should they be kept in?
what do they eat?
How aggressive are they?

Or if some one can just send me a link to a profile page for them.

Thanks

If it's considered the same as any Metriaclima Zebra it appears that they probably will grow to about 6'-7' and are pretty aggressive. I'm not 100% but judging how the others are is probably a good representation of the species if they are the same. I hope someone can confirm for you. Good luck :good:

Thanks,
Steve

Who has these Justin? Are they F1? If you get a good quality male of these, they are probably one of the nicest mbuna if you ask me. With them having the jet black and yellow contrast. There is some profiles out there but they are pretty much the same as most metriaclima species, top out usually at 6", can be aggressive and best of kept in groups (Ideally)
Basically what yanks just said :D

Hows the fish going?
Hows your fish doing to yanks?

Iv got 5 reserved but wanted to check they will be ok to keep in my saulosi tank, is 5 ok ? There only fry at the moment and I'll be getting them at 1" so it's pot luck if I get a male or not, if I get more than 1 I'll sell one off. Neil at northantsmalawis is where I willbe getting them from in about 4 weeks along with 10 more saulosi.

The males look amazing but iv read they can be mega aggressive so I'm still not sure if it's worth the risk.

The problem could be with both the saulosi and kwanga. Saulosi are all mouth if you get what i mean. They can be aggressive but tend not to really back it up, they will show aggression but not stick at it so much where as certain mbuna species like the kwanga will keep going and going and going and will not settle till they have seriously stressed or killed other fish in their territory/area. The good thing for you is, you already have a group of saulosi in there and by the time you get them you should already have ( or close to having) a dominant male saulosi. Like i said before though, your going to be having 20 saulosi so there is a chance of a fair few males so they will need to be thinned out, then i would maybe consider getting the kwanga, they do get larger to which you will have to take into consideration mate. What If you got another 5 saulosi and then 5 kwanga maybe? Definitely thin the males on the kwanga pretty quickly as well, they will seriously kick the you know what out of each other.

Yes your right, I will stick with the saulosi for now until I have the right balence. Thanks for the advice.

It shouldn't take to long for your males to start and show themselves. No worries.

Hey MMD, everybody seems to be doing pretty good. All eating an very active :good: I received my Nkhata Bay Labs today and they look fantastic. I'll try to get some pics up in my Cyno thread probably tomorrow. Now I have to decide if I'm going to keep the Petro. Nkhata Orange or not. I'm up to 25 fish in a 55gal(US) I'm thinking of getting one of my 20gal tanks up and cycled and put them in it for now. If/when I unload them, I'll fill it with something else. I'll see how it goes.

Thanks,
Steve
