Zebra Danios Have Spawned! I Have Fry!

I have 2 tropical freshwater community tanks, a 20 US gallon and a 30 US gallon. In my 30 gallon I have platy, guppies, and LF Zebra danios. I am a 'let nature take it's course' person, so pregnant females stay in the main tank as do the fry. In one corner of the tank I have created a nursery of dense plants and larger rocks. The guppies and platties have dropped in the nursery ( have several fry of each hanging out in there), and today while feeding the fry I noticed at least one danio fry!

These tanks are upgrades from what started as a 3 gallon triops shrimp tank, moved to a 5 gallon, then a 10 gallon FW tropical community, now the current two tanks. Guess I'll be re-establishing the 10 gallon for some of the new fish when they get older since they'll overtake the 30 gallon. Better yet, we may just have to upgrade to a 55 gallon LOL

I expected platy and guppy babies, but didn't think I'd get danio fry! Proud fish mamma here! LOL

haha..you remind me of when i first spoted my danio fry..it was exciting..good luck with your frys!!..and post some pictures for us!

. I kept danios at one stage and never had any luck with them!

lol except i remember its pain in the neck to catch them ..so fast ><

Yes, they are a pain to catch! When I moved them to the 30 gallon it took me 45 minutes to catch the 6 of them. I kept worrying about the stress on them from all of the "chasing with the net" but they made it and are apparently happy enough to spawn!
