Ive been preparing to start a Zebra Danio only tank. It is a ten gallon tank which i think is the minimum but im not sure for how many fish? If any one knows the max number of the danios would be ok plz help me cuz i dont wanna mess up by gettin too many!!

I think they get to about 2 inches don't they, so using the inch per gallon rule, that would be 5. I thought they needed bigger tanks though, as they're so active and need lots of swimming room?

Long term, you're looking at 15 gallons minimum, ideally 20 or more.

People often sell them as small fish or fish that are good for small tanks but it's totally untrue. They are highly active, fast swimming fish that need to be kept in groups of 6 or more and need a lot of SPACE.

If you could find them, try some 'dwarf' danios. There are very pretty danio species that only grow to an inch or so.
