you like.

My females get along fine. When i Finaly get a Digi cam i will post pix of them all.

My fav is the tiny pastel female, she is soooooooooooo cute, spends all day gliding around the plants in the tank and is ignored by the male - he does not like her.

Did not realise this was my 1st post, I thought I had posted something B4 this.

Heres my first post (other than the very first in the newbie section to say hello)

"I have a 300L tank containing mainly large fish (8" to a foot 14 in number) I would like to fit a co2 system to enable plants to grow quicker as new small plants are hoplessly dwarfed (and some just refuse to grow)would it have any adverse effects on my fish if i was to run it just in tank light hours when the plants are consuming co2."

and heres a link to the thread, i never did get the answer to my actual question  http://fish.orbust.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3359&hl=

Hello!

I have a 46 gallon tank that's been going for a while and has settled in nicely. I currently have 5 rosy barbs, 3 cories and a pleco.

I'm trying to decide if I want to add a completely different fish, or just more barbs or cories.....

I'd LOVE suggestions if you know of any that would complement the barbs and cories well

Thanks!
--Kristin

The pleco has already gone back to the lfs (I didn't know how big he'd get!), I have 8 cories now and the rosy barbs are going back tomorrow for more rainbowfish

Hi,

Can anyone give me some ideas of the best fish to start a tank with?

I have a 30 gall tank which is set up with gravel substrate, rocks, bogwood and a few plastic plants. I'm looking for something hardy that will help the tank mature but that will still fit in with the community when complete.

Thanks.

I think it was answered by danio2004 :D with "get some danios"

Funny that

Mine was mean, so I'm not going to post it. The whole first page is basically insults. I think I called someone mentally retarded  ...

 This thread is very cool! Funny posts everyone!

Hi, I'm new, looks like a great site. I'm in my learning stage of breeding livebearers. I've pretty much mastered the art of breeding mollies, but need lots of help with fancy guppies. My quetions are:

1. How can I tell when to put my female guppy in the birthing contraption?

2. I have a 1 gallon tank for the birthing contaption, my plan is to put the females in there when they're ready, and after they're done giving birth, take them out. Will the fry be okay growing up in there? The pet store guy told me they wouldn't grow fast enough, it would take 2 months instead of 2 weeks for them to be ready to go back with their parents. Is this true? Is a 1 gallon too small?

3. Can I have both molly fry and guppy fry in the same birthing contaption/growing up house?

4. And lastly, I put my four fancy guppies (2 males, 2 females) in with my two mollies (1 male, 1 female) They seem to be agressive twards eachother, but I read that guppies and mollies are fine with one another. My guppies stay towds the bottom and my mollies at top. When I feed the fish, the guppies don't come up, they just look up at the food like they want it, but the mollies are there. Should I be worried? What should I do. I have them in a 55 gallon tank.

Thank you in advance. Any help would be greatly appresiated!
Ron

My first post was due to google finding some info on breeding Prestilla tetras on here... i read it, joined and bumped it for tips and info...

I thought my Pristella tetars were courting, but I read that they are picky when they selecte their mates. I never breed tetars before, so this is all new to me. Can anyone provide a little information about their breeding and spawning? Do they need any special needs, like plants or a seperate tank?

bump - from your signature it worked - any tips??

You can also buy small Reverse Osmosis units for the home. This could prove to be a cheaper alternative in the long run than buying from a LFS.

That is only if your water isn't meatered and it a RO Unit costs about £100 and thats only if you know where to go.

I wouldn't add miniral water from tescos 'cos bottled water may contain preservatives in it so carbon filter it before you add to to ur tank

This was actually my sixth post, but all the other ones were my intro and then four posts that were like five words each...

Someone had said something about being tempted to buy the largest tank that money could buy and fill it up with fishes. This was what I responded:

Me too...lucky for me I have my mama here (most of the time) to keep me grounded so I don't get lost in fishy heaven...  :fish:

I found a tank in the classifieds and it was 10 gallons w/ accessories and fish for $15...my mom told me no...that it probably leaked and that we have more than enough fish.  :-(  I stuck my tongue at her and said "We could NEVER have enough fish!!"

Of course I still don't get the aquarium.

Edit: Sorry...I can't spell...      :fun:

I ended up getting way more fishes...hehe...I bred my mollies and ended up with hundreds of babies that she never knew about and I also got two bettas that she didn't know about. :shifty:

By the way, love the idea of this post!!

This is a great topic starter julie! Here's my first question post:

My guppy is in the middle of giving birth(i say middle cus she had 2 fry yesterday and I've read it can take over a period of days to have all the babies) and she hasn't been hungry for 2 days now. Is it because she's eaten some of her young already ? I thought you should feed your pregnant guppies often since they get very hungry after birth. Well she isn't interested in the flakes or tubifex worms. In her bredding net I've left a real plant as a last hope for food. Please help!

Worried for the babies and mommy,
Laura

I think I could now answer my own quesiton, lol!

is it a bad thing to have male betas close enough to see and flare at eachother, but not within contact? i have four betas, scraggle and dragon, which are in a betta tank made for 2, CC bubble gum, who is in one of those plastic critter tanks with the snap on lid, and midnight, who is in one of those spongebob fishy tanks......all next to eachother. do they like the amusement of being near other bettas or is this just aggrivation? i always thought it was something for them to do. don't want bored fish ya know! and one more thing....would being like this maybe make them less aggresive and used to being around other fish? i thought a loner would be more aggresive than one exposed to others.....welp, thats all....buh byes :D

i have lots of stupid posts!!!!!

heck just check the last 2 page of all my posts!!!!!!!!!
