Ok i am holding all of you here in the betta section responsible for the fact that i went to the LFS today for some fish food and came home with another betta.

I think he may be a crown tail but i will get you guys to confirm that once he is settled and i can get photos.

One week ago i had none LOL

I was a bit shocked when they woman in p@h told me they are getting a delivery of females on friday if i wish to put a few in with him, i'm pretty sure that i made her very aware of why female bettas should not be mixed with males.

Im thinking of getting a betta soon (male) but I wil have to get a seperate tank. but im sure its werfit.

My bettas have individual tanks, one has a fluval edge and shares it with some corys, the other one now has an 18inch clear seal tank and shares it with a small plec for now (plec will move soon though.

I also have a 5foot community tank,a 4 foot cichlid tank,a 3 foot tiger barb tank,a 2 and a half foot tank cycling for goodness knows what yet.

You KNOW you want to use that 2 and a half foot tank for some girls :hey:

You know that thought did cross my mind, how many girls could i have and do they mix with anything else? Or should i stick to just girl bettas

YAY, a new Betta, cant wait to see a piccie. It really is an addiction isnt it? Some women collect shoes, handbags, designer clothes, we collect Betta's lol

Yes it is a big addiction LOL

I know what you mean  Every time I go into this particular LFS I end up with another female betta! Sheesh! And of course then I want to breed them but I have to be content with the babies I have now  Why didn't anyone tell hubby and me how addicting this is?

You could easily have 6 girls in there, and they mix with tankmates a bit better than males do, espescially as they don't have such long fins, so keeping them with things like tetras is more do-able.

Try some small rasboros, or some Endlers for something really bright and pretty that won't grow too large. A group of pretty girls and some Endlers or even something like Lampeye killifish would work. A little gaggle of around 6 cories for the bottom perhaps. I have pygmy cories with my girls and they get on very well.

... Once you start you won't be able to stop. It's contagious.
