Right long story very very short OH's tank cracked tropical's had to go in with Coldwater til he rehomed them . he came down last night asking me to price a 4ftx3ftx3ft Tank . I asked why ...Answer ....I'm giving you the 112G + fish and getting a bigger tank

So now for questions

1. Is my current stocking ok with what i'll be receiving ?
Current stock:Angel's ,Danio's, Platy's,Neons Harlequin Rasbora's,Clown Loach , Clown Plec's,Corie's & Black Skirt Tetra

Stock to be added : 4X silver dollars and Shark Catfish

2. What sort of filtaration am i looking at ? i have an eheim 2226 i think external which is designed for a tank 350L and i will be getting a fluval 305 aswell which i beleive is for 300L is this adaquate or should i just sell both and get a FX5?

3. Can i keep the plants ? love caring for my plants and would love to continue in new tank

4. What wattage of heater ?

5. How the hell do i build a stand? The tank i'll be receiving is 4ft long 3 ft in height and 1.5ft wide . Is there anyone like juwel or such that have tanks this size i could just buy the stand?

And last one where can i buy a 4ftx3ftx3ft reasonably cheap .We've been quoted £299 for a 4x2.5x2 and £425 for a 4.5x2.5x2.5 ...Anyone know cheaper that delivevers to scotland

Hopefully someone can help cause i'm soooooo god dam excited ! finally get to grow bigger !

1. Shark catfish get quite big if i remeber rightly so most of the list would probably be eaten at some point, and silver dollars will eat neons.. well mine did when i kept them lol

2. That all depends on if you decide to stick with the shark catfish and silver dollars

3. My silver dollars destroyed my plants to literally the roots

4. 2x 300w or 1x 300w and 1x 200w

5. Not a clue the carpenters will have to help here sorry

I was quoted £58 for a 4ft x 18" x 18" from Trade Aquatics in Camelon, so I'd go for there

The Hexanematichthys seemanni will get to around 14inches and will need a brakish set up<taken from planet catfish>Salt should be added in relation to the age of the fish. The older the fish, the more salt, right up to 100% marine. The fish is very tolerate of changes of salinity and will live in freshwater happily as a young fish.

The silver's will eat the neon's, plant's no as silver's will devour them, fx5 brilliant filter

UNtil you rehome some of the fish or decide what stock to keep you could always set up a divider so the shark and the silver dollars dont get expensive meals. Obviously set it up so the big fish get plenty of space.

silver dollars eat plants and small fish. Shark cats need salt and will eat small fish as a snack. You may be looking at a metal framed stand for a tank that size which can be cheap if you know the right person or expensive if you dont.
Yes tanks that are up to 15 -18 inch wide are relatively low in price but when you get to 2-2.5 foot they tend to go up in price quite steeply. I should think a 4x2.5x3 if you can find one that size would be anywhere between 200 and 300 pound. For ease id go for a 4x2x2!

Thanks For replies . So i'm going to have to rehome the fish really wanted to keep them due to age and size but i really really like my plants ...then again i could just keep current tank re-shuffle livingroom and fit the 4foot in !!! God my bill's would be through the roof ...But hey ho i could hcarge for entrance ! lol

And regarding the tank pricing bit .The tank ain't for me it's the upgrade OH wants tank he currently has is already 3foot high so he doesn't really want to loose any height would rather add to length and width.Guess i'll be doing some more online pricing lol

what Fish could i add to current stocking in new tank ...Really really like the golden Sev's but think i'd have the same problem with them as i would with the silver dollars Dammit !

I cant help with stocking i'm afraid, but just wanted to say a big woohoo for your OH giving you that huge tank! lol at charging an entry fee Congrats on the new tank, wish my OH was into fish too. Good luck with it all.

Had a wee browse through fish sites etc would any of the following be ok with my current stocking

Flame Tetra(will grow out in my empty 30L before being put in tank)
Peacock Goby
Golden Panchax
Threadfin Rainbowfish

What numbers should i keep them in etc ?

No one has mentioned this, so I will. The Clown Loach should have some buddies, so you should get a few more of them first off.
