Resurrecting the Passion of Fishkeeping
Ok so Hurricane Sandy came through yesterday and about 20 minutes ago our power came back on!
Well....I automatically check my tanks, glad to see that everyone made it with out electricity/filtration/heaters...
Was checking everyone and I see activity in the back of the tank...I see a pile of eggs!
Two of my German Blues paired up during the storm and laid a clutch of eggs. I guess the temperature swing got them going.
Okay...now I was not at all prepared. Where they are now, in the community tank, I have little hope of them surviving. Both parents seem to be taken turns fanning and chasing the other fish off.
If I move the parents with their driftwood into my 26 gallon bow, will the parents continue to care for their eggs or will the move traumatize them and make them abandon/eat them?
Will moving the eggs out of their tank kill them?
