ok my boyfriend has been searching for alternative lighting because ours broke and cant be fixed,
he came across the "arcadia ibar" lights

Is it a juwel tank? which one specifically? and they would be good for plants...providing you inject CO2 or keep your photo period short.

the tank is an ocean caribean 150
but lights off the rio 400 are the same size as my one..150cm
it holds 412 litres

It will be fine, might be a bit over kill if you have plants though, a T8 twin unit would be better.

Twin T5's would require CO2 if you wish to grow plants, you could easily make your own unit much cheaper!

i wish i knew how but think if i tried it,it would look stupid and be a waste of money, off hand would you have a rough estimate on how much it would cost to get co2 for a 412 ltr tank?

There are many different CO2 set ups some are really expensive and some cost next to nothing. So it really depends on what set up your wanting.

for a fire extinguisher set up your looking at about £80 and then It depends on how much refills are round your area.

Because the plants will photosynthesize quicker which means that they need more CO2, and once the CO2 in the tank has gone, and there is non left, the plant cannot photosynthesize and it will die.
