I notice whenever i chnage the bettas tankw ater it appears to be kind of a clear yellow colour, i dont know if its to do with the sand, the plants?
Is this normal, water stats are all fine, and the tanks cycled.

I have bogwood, elodea, wisteria and lots of other random floating plants i got off a guy.
Theres a treasure chest and thats about it. Xx

It'll be the bogwood leaching tannins. They're perfectly safe and some fish even really benefit from them. It'll get diluted over time or you can add activated carbon to the water if you don't like them.

ahhh right, my new setup doesnt eveolve the bogwood so hopefully ill see a change there.

plants will also leech tannins and chloraphyll as the leaves die off...it is totally normal and not harmful to your fish! welcome to live plants :hyper:
if it were store bought bogwood, they are sometimes not soaked all the way prior to selling them and will also leech tannins but it is more of a murky brown/tea color than the yellowish that comes with plants.
hope that helps
cheers

yea, i don't necessarily have bogwood, I just picked up this piece of wood from a lake the other day, and boiled it for half an hour, and when i put it in my tank, it was a little yellowy......but now it's clear...so just wait for a couple days.

the plants have come out of my fry tank and that was crystal clear so i would go with the wood in there just pop some carbon in there that should clear it wright up

Ive doen a water change its clear now, and jay i think the plants cleared it up better lol, i know itsn ot your plants ;).
