Yellow Water Just Won't Clear Up.

Ok everyone, 15 days ago I added sand to my 55g. I washed it until the water in the buckets were clear but it still turned my tank a deep deep yellow. I could only see fish if they came right against the tank. Since then it's cleared up a lot. If I just stand infront of it I can see everyone fine, just a yellow tint. But I look through a side I can't see more than halfway through it before it looks like a desert of yellow. I want this yellow tint gone but nothing is working, water changes, the filter, nothing. =\ Any ideas?

All you can do really is keep changing your water, maybe add some carbon to your filter aswell.
