Yellow Tang Atacking My Tomatoe Clam

Hi I currently have a 24 month old reef wih a mandarin gobie, yello tang, domino damsel, niger trigger and feather starfish. THe other day i put in a small tomatoe clam and my yellow tang will not let it anywhere near the live rock. I thought they get along ? he was one of my first fish and has never acted this way before . I dont want my little clown to die but hes hanging out on top of the tank however he eats like a maniac. help!!!
