Okay im having a nightmarish time with my tank. Its a 10 gallon that ive been fishless cycling for about a month now. First the tank was over run by white fungus or mould, but that went away. Well since the tank was started ive had yellow slime on the silicone. The tank was resealed wity GE 1. Ive scraped it off many times. So is this algae, diatoms, fungus or what is it?! I tried to get a pictire but my camera just dilutes the color.

Probably is dinoflagelletes, which are somehow feeding on silica from it. Should go away as it completely cures.

This is most interesting.  I recently changed one of my tanks, a 29g, and removed the sand to give it a good clean.  I noticed a section of the seal along the front of the bottom glass (which was previously under the sand and thus not noticed) that was bright golden yellow.  It was about 2-3 inches, in the one spot only.  I asked a couple aquarists about this, they said they had no idea what it was.  So I left it alone.  It wouldn't come off, the colour was right through the seam at that one point.  I've never seen this before.  Suspect this may be the same thing, no idea though.
