Hey all i recently added two Kissing Gourami to my tank, one is bigger than the other, both still small tho around 3 inch.
One (the larger) has a yellow patch on his head, now im not to sure if this is a illness or dieases or just normal, as i have seen yellow Kissers in the past i did look on the pinned articles i thought maybe it could be Oodinium. Or am i being to picky and that is just how they are
Thanks in advance
Greg

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph.
Can you describe the texture of the patch, talc, fluffy, velvet looking.
Yellow patches can mean velvet to columnaris.
Also any signs of flicking and rubbing or laboured breathing.

Size of tank in gallons or litres: 260L
Fish:11 Guppies (2 adult) 2 Kissers 3 Dwarf chiclids
Ammonia:0
Nitrite:0
Nitrate:?? (no test kit for tht)
p.H:6.2 (maybe not helping i think.)
The patches look just like the scales, jus a little off color, and only slightly. Pic to follow

No laboured breathing, they go up to the top now and again bout it.

It was like this when i got i am quite sure, unless it can develop in under 10mins? i know the bacteria are in every aquarium, but the paches showing up tht quick?
I think there maybe be a black dot in the middle of the yellow only its very slight, not to sure tho. Im gutted i really like this fish :(
About the p.H it is coming up with water changes, not sure if you read any of my other posts but i disturbed the substrate while setting up causing the water to turn more acidic.

With columnaris you can get spots in the centre of it.
Take a look here.
And it's definately a patch and not a spot.

Seen the pic looking at velvet to columnaris, if there no signs of flicking and rubbing I would treat it as bacterial.
Maracyn one and two.
Gouramis are more prone to bacterial infections.

Sorry didn't notice your location at the time wrong meds there US meds.
You will meed myxazin and pimafix.
Increase aeration in the tank, turn temp down by two degrees.
On the main tank do some daily water change.

I would knock the temp down in the main tank just for a week by two degrees as well.
Good luck.
