saying it is close to a foot or better high this is probably about a 55 gallon. overstocking the tank you could probably go with about 16- 5" adult size fish.

I've got 6 labs in a 90 gal with 14 other cichlids. Water parameters: hardness is quite high (19 ppm or something like that) pH is appx 8.2, temp is appx 82 degrees. lots of hiding place and caves and stuff. Of the 6 there are two pairs that breed quite often.
