Hoover AL,
A couple of days ago my female yellow lab stopped eating and started baring slightly. Hers some pictures.

( my camera is messed up so the eyes look odd.)

I guess her fins appear to be drawn in huh! And it's as if she's resting on the plant? or is that just picture?

If it's the same stocking as the 55 you're definitley not overstocked. Is the tank really new? Did you fishless cycle?

And the other fish are acting just fine and normal? Practically beg for food and swim around the tank nibbling at algea, if any, and occassionally taking up chasing others? Maybe you need more fish. I'd say 12 max b/c of the acei as they get larger.

She is floating slightly above it. 3 other yellows around 2.5-3 in. and 4 acei abut 2 in. The ph is high its around 8.6, nitrate of 20, no chlorine hardness around 300. I did a fishless cycle. the tank is kinda new. The other fish are fine.

Darn, I'd come over and do a test for ya if you lived close enough. Take a water sample to your lfs tomorrow. How did you fishless cycle w/out ammonia test? I guess you ran out. Next time you get some, which should be soon since you have a newly established tank make sure to liquid test. Dip strips can be inaccurate. (sorry if you already know that)
