Yellow Lab Tankmates

I just recently purchased a yellow lab as an adoption fish.  I’d like to get more yellow labs, but what other cichlids can co-exist as tankmates?

You could go for lake Malawi cichlids. I have yellow labs also I have mine with frontosa cichlids

Would Pseudotropheus sp. "Acei" be good tankmates?

Here's the Lab I just purchased. I suspect it's a female. Am I correct?

Yes it's a female. And yes the acei would be fine as long as you go 1m 4f. I have ngara acei in my tank and the females are always getting harrased.

i thought Acei are one of few malawis that don't really care about the ratio they are kept, i have 6 yellow tail Luwala and there is zero squabbling. 
 
That aside, it really depends on the size of your tank and your filtration.

I have have 2 males and 3 females. The sub dom male never gets a look in. I feel a bit sorry for him as the dom male gets all the action. There not really aggressive. But I wish I had a few more females to give the sub dom some action. But as my tank is 4ft I will have to make do with the 5 I have. Probably have to move them on once they get a bit bigger.
