Yellow Lab Sexing

hi, so i know that people say that the only way to sex yellow labs is too vent, but you dont always have the chance to do that while purchasing fish. people also say that coloring is always the best way to sex as the females can also have the black markings. so i was basically wondering that if someone got an all yellow yellow lab would it most likely be female?

Personally, I put them in my tank and if I eventually find them holding then they must be female. If I get to see them spawning then I might be able to pick out a male - LOL!
