still alive an kicking. :good:

thanks! unfortunately it's a 2.5 -lol-

he's still on the sad side. I have some pictures from when i first got him and he was so much nicer then, before he got sick. but being sick will do that. I'm just glad he's getting his energy back. and eating like a pig.

yeah, i don't generally buy large bettas -lol- but he's smaller since he's been sick. wasted away, a bit. I do think he's going to make a full turn around, though. :)

:D bless he is pretty....I found out by accident that my bettas all like their week to float at the top of their tanks, after I had weighted most of them down. they seem to like perching on them and dozing at the water level. Will your weed float? Might be worth a try...sorry not telling you what to do...just something I have found out.

well, it may. but it's silk, not real. i'd have to pull it all to pieces. He spends most of his rest time on the floor of the tank though, or on the heater.

Wow I'm glad he's pulling through, didnt think he would make it when I read your other post but it looks good. I have that same heater in my tanks, Just thought I'd add that. Oh and also my female is probably half of that size but healthy none the less, but I think she's just very young because she's grown about a centimeter since i got her about a week or 2 ago.

heck i didn't think he was going to live, either. he was in a bad bad way, but he's definately pulled through. I've moved his tank so it's next to the ten gallon with the bettas and he's feeling well enough to flare and fuss at the male he's living next to now. That's good because it means i can exercise him.

I'm so glad he's doing better; I did not think he would make it when I read about him the first time. He's such a pretty color!!!

Also, you can make your own lid for a 2.5. Just cut a piece of plastic canvas to fit in the frame around the tank.....actually it needs to be a little smaller. Once you have it the right size, cut and place report cover spines around all four edges. It's as easy as making your own divider. I made a top for my 2.5 and it looks and works great!

well, i don't really mind the plastic wrap as i'm not trying to show the poor thing off anyhow atm. that and I have that plastic canvas stuff, and it wouldn't retain moisture well at all, which is the reason this betta has a lid. Since he wasn't well I wanted to keep the humidity up so there would be that much less shock on his system while he's getting better.

i have the same tank :) you can buy the top (lighting included) at petsmart, or perhaps another local pet store. my baby dionysus is in the 2.5

yeah. mine came with lids. but i think i tossed them. it didn't seem like any air coould get in. but whatever, this works ;)

the glass lids? so did mine! i'm glad i wasn't alone in my thinking. i put it on, sat there for a second, and then decided it just wasn't physically possible for the poor betta to get ANY air. so i took it off. i suppose that i ought to put a top on it, though... ugh, another $12 down the drain.

Can we get a close up of him? I've truly have never seen a pure yellow betta (that is without transparent fins).
