thanks, id there any tips you can give me on caring for the pregnant females? i dont have a breeding trap/net or anything? worth buying one?
 
i don't tend to use breeder nets/boxes becase i have found it stresses them out and can cause them to abort, but i could be worth getting one to put the fry in if you don't have a seperate fry tank :good:

i have a 5 gallon tank for thr fry, anything i nee to do to set that up? at the minute it is just an empty tank?
 
its ok you don't need a filter if you keep up with your water changes, other wise a sponge? filter is probably your best bet
 
my filter was a disasterit sucked up nearly all my first batch of platy fry, the second batch i had to get a breeding net so they could learn to swim strong enough to not get sucked up.

thanks for that, i made a one liek in taht post, but then i went to lfs to get 2 more male and 2 more female gupps and see a corner filter there for 1 pound 80 so i couldnt do wrong, now i have too, now all i need is fry :D do you need to cycle a fry tank?
