My big tank is currently cycling and I have just been admiring my old Juwel Rekord 60 which was my first ever tank to get me interested in this hobby. I won it on ebay in 2004 and the previous owner was really lovely and threw in all the equipment and some books to get me going. I was also sufffering from depression at the time and I swear the fish helped me get off the pills. My partner even made me a really sweet stand with a seahorse handle.

Anyway the idea was to sell on the tank once the big tank was established. However, my partner has just realised that it means a lot to me and he knows how attached I am to his handy work (that stand was made with love  ) so he has just said "Awwwwwww go on then, you can keep em both!" Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay :hyper:

So I was thinking of using it as a fry tank, to grow them on. Please can anyone suggest a good filter for this tank. I currently have a fluvel 2. but its on it's last legs.

Eheims are usually good, and they last, once again look at ebay for a cheap and good one... Once fry start it will never stop... hehe enjoy...

If you're gonna have it as a fry tank, it doesn't need to be turning over like a washing machine.

A small(ish) easily cleanable internal jobbie should do.

A 60L is about 15USFG. If you are going to use as a grow out tank I would suggest that you check out the foam filter alternative. They don't EAT fry! Very inexpensive and quite effective and easy to clean.
