Got some puffers today. 4 adult spotted puffers and 2 rather young looking pigmy puffers. (all pretty much the same family tho?).
The 2 young looking puffers are only about 1/3 the size of the adults. It had never occured for me to ask if young and adult puffers are ok together on this forum so I hat to trust the LFS who did say they should be fine??
I'd checked my params on the tank almost a week ago and they were fine (its an established tank of 12 months), checked today (admittedley as an afterthought after I'd bought the puffers, but before they were introduced to the tank) and found the ammonia was up a little?? I did a 50% water change and as the other fish had been removed I took my time to do a lot of pruning on the plants. I had removed a lot of yellow/brown leaves that accumulate over time so I think they were the cause.
Anyways, I hope the little fellas are ok. I'll post some pics next week once they have settled down.
Thanks for all the advice people
OOH Afterthought, if anyone can see I've done something stupid in what I've said above please speak up asap! the little critters need you
